Welcome to Our Website!
The 1978 Child Placement Review Act established New Jersey as the second state to mandate citizen review of Division of Youth and Family Services placements of children outside their home. The CPRA created Child Placement Review Boards in every county and established the New Jersey State Child Placement Advisory Council (CPAC). The local CPRBs are comprised of 484 court-appointed citizen volunteers who review the case of each child in placement and act as independent advocates for the best interests of the child. The Advisory Council takes a comprehensive view of New Jersey’s child placement support system and is comprised of a representative from each of the 53 local CPRBs.
Our Mission
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the Child Placement Review Act in promoting the welfare of children placed outside their homes in order to advise New Jersey’s three branches of government and advocate for the safety and best interests of children in placement.
